2 Asian Games athletes fail drug test
DOHA, Qatar -- The Olympic Council of Asia says a Qatari silver medalist and a Palestinian runner who competed in the 2010 Asian Games have failed drug tests.
Ahmed Dheeb, who won silver in the men's discus, tested positive for banned anabolic agent exogenous testosterone metabolites and will be stripped of his medal. The 800-meter runner Awajna Abdalnasser tested positive for norandrosterone, another anabolic agent.
This brings to four the number of athletes who failed drug tests during the Asian Games last November in Guangzhou, China.
Two Uzebks tested positive for the stimulant methylhexaneamine: Jakhongir Muminov, a wrestler, and Shokir Muminov, who was stripped of his judo silver medal.
