Slew's Exchange draws off to win Monmouth feature

OCEANPORT, N.J. -- Slew's Exchange took the lead near the top of the stretch and drew off to win the $60,000 Klassy Briefcase Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating Diamond d'Oro by 1 3/4 lengths.

Ridden by Elvis Trujillo and trained by Eddie Plesa Jr., the 4-year-old filly ran the 5½ furlongs over a good turf course in 1:03 2/5 and paid $5.80, $3.80 and $2.40. The win was the fifth in 12 career starts for Slew's Exchange, who boosted her overall earnings to $188,317.

Diamond d'Oro returned $5.40 and $3, while Sounds of the City was a head back in third and paid $2.20.
