Kharafa wins Big A's Three Coins Up Stakes

NEW YORK -- Kharafa rallied for a 11/4-length win over Plainview on Sunday in the $100,000 Three Coins Up Stakes on the turf at Aqueduct.

Javier Castellano guided the 4-year-old gelding trained by Tim Hills to his sixth win in 18 starts. The time was 1:42.96 for 1 1/16 miles on the firm course.

Kharafa paid $17.20, $7.60 and $4.20. Plainview returned $4.80 and $3.30, and Lubash, the 9-5 favorite, paid $2.50 to show.
