ANAHEIM, California - Los Angles Angels of Anaheim second baseman Adam Kennedy, who has not played this season while recovering from knee surgery, will be activated from the 15-day disabled list Monday.

Kennedy has not played since suffering a torn right ACL in September. He will rejoin the team Monday in Seattle.

The MVP of the 2002 American League Championship Series, Kennedy is a career .278 hitter with 46 homers and 277 RBIs in 757 games.

Kennedy was the Angels' regular second baseman before being injured, but that job now belongs to Chone Figgins. Anaheim may move Figgins to third base to make room for Kennedy.

To clear space on the roster for Kennedy, the Angels will place infielder Lou Merloni on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right ankle. Injured in the fourth inning of Sunday's game at Minnesota, Merloni is hitless in five at-bats this season.
