DENVER -- The Washington Nationals have placed outfielder Xavier Nady on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a tendinitis in his right wrist.
The move is retroactive to Sunday. Nady was batting .157 with three home runs and six RBIs in 40 games.
An orthopedist told the Nationals the injury could worsen and Nady would miss more time.
Nationals manager Davey Johnson says, "It hadn't been getting any worse, but it hadn't been getting any better."
Washington has reinstated outfielder/infielder Mark DeRosa from the DL. DeRosa had missed 50 games with a strained left side.
