BALTIMORE -- The Cleveland Indians have recalled right-hander Zach McAllister from the minor leagues so he can start Thursday night against the Orioles.
The 24-yearold McAllister was recalled from Triple-A Columbus to help the Indians snap a five-game losing streak. He went 5-2 with a 2.98 ERA in 11 starts with Columbus.
This is McAllister's second stint with the Indians. He was 1-1 with a 3.96 ERA in four starts last month before being optioned to Columbus on May 25.
To make room for McAllister, the Indians optioned left-hander Scott Barnes to Columbus. Barnes was recalled on June 25th and pitched against the Yankees on Monday night.
