SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Padres have recalled right-hander Miles Mikolas from Triple-A Tucson and optioned righty Nick Vincent to the same club.
Mikolas, 23, made his big league debut for the Padres on May 5 against the Miami Marlins. In 13 relief outings for the Padres, he went 1-1 with a 3.29 ERA. He returns to San Diego having not allowed a run for 9 1/3 innings -- a stretch that spans his last seven major league appearances.
Vincent, 25, made four relief appearances with the Padres, including his big league debut on June 26. He earned his first win after throwing one inning at Houston on June 28.
