Dodgers recall Magill to make major league debut
LOS ANGELES -- Stephen Fife is going from the Los Angeles Dodgers' starting rotation to the 15-day disabled list.
The Dodgers said Saturday that the right-hander has shoulder bursitis, and the move is retroactive to April 22. Righty Matt Magill was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque and will make his major league debut Saturday night against Milwaukee.
Magill has a 2.84 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 19 innings in four starts for the Isotopes this season. The 23-year-old pitcher is from nearby Simi Valley, Calif.
Fife started last Sunday in Baltimore after being recalled from Albuquerque the same day He allowed four runs on seven hits in 4 2-3 innings in the no-decision.
