MINNEAPOLIS -- The Baltimore Orioles have recalled left-hander Mike Belfiore from Triple-A Norfolk.

Belfiore takes the place of starting pitcher Steve Johnson, who allowed seven hits and six earned runs while striking out three in four innings Saturday night in his first start of the season and was optioned after the game.

Belfiore will be making his major league debut.

In his first year in Triple-A, Belfiore was 1-0 with a 5.52 ERA in 10 games. He had 17 strikeouts in 14 2-3 innings.
