KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Paul Konerko was scratched from the White Sox starting lineup just before the first pitch of Thursday night's game against the Kansas City Royals after complaining of light-headedness.

Konerko was listed at first base and batting fifth on the original lineup sheet. His removal set off a series of changes that included adding outfielder Jordan Danks to the lineup.

The White Sox also recalled Leury Garcia from Triple-A Charlotte to take the roster spot of outfielder Blake Tekotte, who was optioned to Charlotte the previous night.

The White Sox needed some depth in their infield with third baseman Jeff Keppinger dealing with a stiff lower back. Garcia was part of the deal that sent Alex Rios to the Rangers.
