NEW YORK -- Gerry Davis is going to be the crew chief for the NL championship series and Joe West is heading the umpires for the AL championship series.
Major League Baseball announced the crews Friday.
Davis, whose 116 postseason games are an MLB record, will be joined by Ted Barrett, Mark Carlson, Bruce Dreckman, Mike Everitt and Greg Gibson in the NLCS between the Cardinals and Dodgers. Game 1 is Friday night in St. Louis.
Dale Scott, Rob Drake, Dan Iassogna, Ron Kulpa and Alfonso Marquez are working with West in the ALCS. The Series between the Red Sox and Detroit Tigers begins Saturday night in Boston.
Davis and West were both crew chiefs in the wild-card games. They will each be behind home plate for Game 1 and Game 7, if necessary.
