Rockets activate G Sura, place G Norris on IL
PHOENIX - The Houston Rockets got a boost to their lineup Friday when they activated guard Bob Sura from the injured list.
Sura had been on the injured list since February 24 with inflammation of scar tissue surrounding his vertebrae. He last played on February 15 in Houston's 123-93 victory over the Washington Wizards. He is expected to play in Friday's road game against the Phoenix Suns.
In his first season with the Rockets, Sura is averaging 10.8 points and career highs of 6.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 steals. The Rockets, who are 26-11 in Sura's 37 starts, lost their first three games without him but have rebounded to win three of their last four.
In a related move, the Rockets placed guard Moochie Norris on the injured list with left foot plantar fasciitis.
Norris has averaged 2.0 points in three games with Houston and 2.5 in 35 games overall between the Rockets and the New York Knicks. Norris returned to Houston on February 24 as part of a trade that sent forward Maurice Taylor to the Knicks.
