BOSTON -- Boston Celtics guard Tony Allen had surgery Saturday to repair torn ligaments in his left knee.

The surgery was performed at New England Baptist Hospital by Celtics physician Brian McKeon, the team said in a statement.

Allen, who is out indefinitely, tore two ligaments in his knee when he landed awkwardly after an uncontested dunk in the final minutes of a loss to Indiana on Wednesday.

He is averaging 11.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.48 steals in 33 games this season.
