SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- ">DeMarcus Cousins had 21 points and nine rebounds for the ">Sacramento Kings, who defeated the ">Phoenix Suns 102-97 on Wednesday night in the preseason opener for both teams.

">Jimmer Fredette ignited the Kings in the fourth quarter, hitting two free throws, then connecting on a 3-pointer a minute later to put Sacramento ahead 92-77 with 6:45 remaining.

">Wesley Johnson scored 18 points and ">Markieff Morris had 16 points and seven rebounds for the Suns. ">Michael Beasley added 14 points.

Rookie forward ">Thomas Robinson had 12 points and eight rebounds for Sacramento. Both Fredette and ">Marcus Thornton added 10 points.

The slimmed-down Cousins played 26 minutes. He was 5 of 15 from the field and 10 of 13 from the free throw line.
