The Bulldogs hung around with the Buckeyes for a while, but then went scoreless over the last 5:25 of the first half and watched the Buckeyes close on an 8-0 run to take a 43-23 lead. Ohio State scored the first five points of the second half.
Smith hit 6 of 9 shots from the field including half of his four 3-point attempts. He had eight rebounds and three assists.

Brust kept the Badgers afloat during their shooting struggles, hitting his first six shots, including four from behind the 3-point line. Up 22-13 more than midway through the first half, Wisconsin reeled off a 23-7 run that featured five 3-pointers by five Badgers to blow the game open.
The Badgers finished the half 9 of 13 from beyond the arc but connected on just one of 13 3-point attempts in the second half.
