HOUSTON -- The Houston Cougars' top two scorers, junior forward TaShawn Thomas and sophomore guard Danuel House, both want off the team and transfers to new schools.

Thomas and House say they had asked for their releases to transfer but were denied. Now, they say they plan to appeal those denials to a special University of Houston committee.

Thomas led the Cougars in scoring this past season with 15.4 points per game and rebounding with 8.1 per game. He was named first-team all-Conference USA in 2012-13 and second-team all American Athletic Conference this past season.

House was the second-leading scorers in 2013-14 with an average of 13.6 points.
