Maryland signs transfer Carter from Georgia Tech
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland's basketball team has signed Georgia Tech transfer Robert Carter, Jr.
Carter averaged 11 points and seven rebounds in two seasons with the Yellow Jackets. The 6-foot-8, 247-pounder will enroll at Maryland this summer and be eligible for the 2015-16 season as a redshirt junior.
Terrapins coach Mark Turgeon describes Carter as "a complete player with a strong offensive skillset."
As a sophomore last season, Carter averaged 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds despite missing 10 games with a knee injury.
Carter says he came to Maryland because of the relationship he developed with Turgeon.
