NAU guard gets weekly conference honor
OGDEN, Utah -- Northern Arizona junior guard DeJuan Stevens has been named the Big Sky Conference men's basketball player of the week.
Stevens scored 51 points in two games, helping the Lumberjacks to a pair of victories.
The 6-foot-3 junior college transfer from West Los Angeles Community College scored a career-high 29 points with five rebounds and five assists in Northern Arizona's 93-81 victory over Lewis and Clark. Stevens was 10-of-16 in field goals and 7-of-9 in free throws.
He also scored 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists in the Lumberjacks' 69-64 win over U-C Davis.
Stevens scored 12 points in the first half as NAU broke open a close game to take a double-digit lead. Stevens was 10-of-13 from the field.
