Syracuse, Temple in inaugural Gotham Classic
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Syracuse and Temple, two of the winningest programs in college basketball history, highlight the field of the inaugural Gotham Classic.
The rest of the field announced Friday are Detroit, Canisius, and Alcorn State.
The format will feature 10 games with all the teams facing each other once. Syracuse and Temple will meet in the feature game on Dec. 17 at Madison Square Garden.
Canisius will be at Syracuse on Dec. 15, at Temple on Dec. 19 and at Detroit on Dec. 29. Alcorn State visits Temple on Dec. 17, Canisius on Dec. 27 and Detroit on Dec. 29. Detroit will be at Syracuse on Dec. 17, at Alcorn State on Dec. 19, and at Temple on Dec. 27.
The Syracuse-Temple and Detroit-Syracuse games will be televised on the ESPN networks.
