Cormier, Loyola (Md) cruise past Binghamton 71-45
BALTIMORE -- Dylon Cormier scored 21 points to lead four Loyola (Md.) players in double figures as the Greyhounds defeated Binghamton 71-45 Friday night in both teams' season opener.
Loyola scored 19 of the game's first 21 points, and the Bearcats never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way. The lead reached 30 points, 68-38, with 2:05 remaining.
The Greyhounds shot 60 percent (15 of 25) in the first half to Binghamton's 34.6 percent (9 of 26).
The win enabled Greyhounds coach Jimmy Patsos to even his career record at 123-123.
Jimmy Gray scored 14 points and was the only player in double figures for the Bearcats, who lost their first 26 games last season and finished 2-29.
