Elon hits 16 3s, routs Bridgewater (Va) 95-51
ELON, N.C. -- Sebastian Koch hit six of Elon's 16 3-pointers as the Phoenix routed Bridgewater (Va.) 95-51 Tuesday night.
Koch, with 18 points, was 6 of 7 from the field -- all from beyond the arc -- for Elon (1-1), while Jack Isenbarger made 5 of 9 3-pointers to finish with 19 points.
The Phoenix finished 16 of 34 from long range. The 44-point margin of victory is the largest for Elon in a home opener since the 1917-18 season when Elon beat Atlanta Christian, 66-11.
Lucas Troutman added 17 and Ryley Beaumont 15 for the Phoenix, who shot 62.5 percent in the first half (20 of 32), while knocking down 10 of 18 from long range.
Bridgewater, a Division III team which counted the game as an exhibition, used 18 players, with none scoring in double figures. Tavis Stapleton led the Eagles with nine points.
Elon forced 25 turnovers.
