Louisiana Tech whips Arkansas Little Rock 70-52
RUSTON, La. -- Louisiana Tech jumped to a 12-point, halftime lead and pulled away from Arkansas-Little Rock for a 70-52 victory on Wednesday night.
Cordarius Johnson led the Bulldogs (1-1) with 17 points, and Brandon Gibson scored 10. In all, 10 Bulldogs scored points, and all 15 on the roster played on a night of liberal substitution.
Ben Dillard scored 17 for Arkansas-Little Rock (1-1), and Taggart Lockhart had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The Bulldogs opened a 10-1 advantage and led 23-6 in the first half. The closes to Trojans got in the second half was nine points at 38-29 with 13:04 to go.
Louisiana Tech, which is 23-0 in non-conference games in the past five seasons, lost to Texas A&M 71-59 in its opener.
Spanning the past five seasons, the Bulldogs are 23-0 in non-conference home games.
