NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Junior forward Shawn Jackson will not return to the Iona basketball program this semester, the school announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-9, 250-pound Jackson appeared in 12 games this season for the Gaels (9-6), starting eight. He averaged 1.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game. The Live Oak, Fla. native transferred to Iona for the 2012-13 season from Northwest Florida State College.
Director of Athletics Eugene Marshall, Jr., cited student's privacy as the reason Jackson's departure will not be discussed.
