Nichols, St. Francis Brooklyn stop Wagner 71-52
NEW YORK -- Travis Nichols came off the bench to score 20 points and St. Francis Brooklyn snapped a four-game Wagner winning streak with a 71-52 Northeast Conference victory Saturday.
Nichols made 4 of 9 from 3-point range for the Terriers (7-8, 3-1), who made 8 of 19 (42.1 percent) for the game from long range to 2 of 11 (18.2 percent) for the Seahawks (9-6, 3-1).
Jalen Cannon added 15 points and Brent Jones 10 for St. Francis, which outscored Wagner 15-0 late in the first half to turn a 19-18 deficit into a 33-19 lead 1:18 before halftime.
Wagner got to within six points in the second half, 45-39 with 10:27 left, before 3-pointers by Nichols and Ben Mockford gave the Terriers a 51-39 lead.
Mario Moody scored 15 points to pace the Seahawks, who lost at home for the first time this season.
