Kentucky suspends receiver Lyons indefinitely
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Kentucky has suspended wide receiver Dicky Lyons Jr. from its football team indefinitely because of a violation of team rules, coach Rich Brooks said Monday.
The university did not elaborate on Brooks' statement.
Lyons, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound sophomore from New Orleans, redshirted this season because of persistent hamstring problems. He played in seven games last season, catching two passes for 11 yards and returning five kickoffs, but missed time because of a broken collarbone.
He is the son of Dicky Lyons Sr., a standout wide receiver and kick returner for Kentucky from 1966 to 1968.
