William &, Mary 35, Georgia State 3
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Keith McBride ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns as William & Mary trounced Georgia State 35-3 Saturday night in a Colonial Athletic Association game.
The Tribe (1-4, 1-2) out-rushed Georgia State 312 yards to 92. After Wil Lutz kicked a 37-yard, first-quarter field goal for the Panthers (0-5, 0-1) to open the scoring, William & Mary scored 35 unanswered points. Twenty-eight came off four of Georgia State's seven turnovers.
McBride scored on runs of 11 and 36 yards. Quarterback Raphael Ortiz scored two short rushing touchdowns while Darnell Laws' 26-yard run in the third quarter put William & Mary up 21-3.
In his first start, Georgia State quarterback Ronnie Bell was intercepted four times while completing 13 of 26 passes for 157 yards. Donald Russell led the Panthers with 107 yards rushing. Bell's fumble on a sack was one of three lost by Georgia State.
