Higgins completed 29 of 38 passes. Greg Wilson caught a 19-yard touchdown in the first quarter and Blake Wayne a 25-yarder in the third. Then Higgins' conversion pass to Light gave Fordham a 31-24 lead, after Koonce's 44-yard scoring run earlier in the quarter.
Kevin Macari scored twice for Georgetown (3-3, 0-1) on a 4-yard run in the first quarter and a 2-yard pass from Stephen Skon in the third. Skon's 5-yard scoring pass to Nick Campanella put the Hoyas up 24-23. Campanella's 7-yard run in the fourth tied it 31-all, but Koonce's 1-yard run with 9 minutes remaining won it.
