Indianapolis cuts 2nd quarterback in 2 days
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts have waived backup quarterback Trevor Vittatoe.
The Arena Football League veteran signed with the Colts on March 8, the day after Indy released four-time league MVP Peyton Manning. He was originally signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in July 2011.
Indy has cut two quarterbacks in two days. On Monday, the Colts waived undrafted rookie David Legree to clear room for the signing of veteran running back Mewelde Moore.
It could also indicate the Colts are getting closer to signing at least one of their three unsigned draft picks -- quarterback Andrew Luck and tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen. All three are participating in rookie workouts this week and next in Indy, but do not count against the roster limit.
