AP Pro32 comments about Eagles
NEW YORK -- Comments on the Philadelphia Eagles by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (8)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 9) -- Two-point win a blowout by Eagles' standards.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 11) -- There has been plenty of talk about Michael Vick, but not enough talk about improved defense.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 9) -- Comment currently unavailable
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 9) -- There were a combined 12 turnovers in the first three weeks, but zero against the Giants. That was the difference in Philly extending its domination over New York. That's eight of the last nine over Big Blue.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 9) -- The Eagles visit the Steelers this weekend -- one of seven interconference games on the schedule. The NFC holds an 8-4 edge in those games to this point.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 6) -- They win when they commit turnovers. They win when they don't. Plus, their defense protects the fourth-quarter leads it did not a year ago. Connect the dots.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 10) -- The only team in the league ranked in the top 10 on both sides of the ball.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 8) -- They could easily be 1-3 instead of 3-1, but no reason to apologize for winning. The Eagles bounce all over these rankings. Last week they were 15th.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 8) -- The Eagles are 3-1 and haven't even come close to playing their best football. That bodes well for Andy Reid and the Eagles.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 7) -- The Eagles are the NFL's shakiest 3-1 team with all three victories coming by a combined total of four points. No matter. They're still 3-1.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 6) -- In a pass happy league, there is something to be said for the team that might have the best pass defense.
