NEW YORK -- Comments on the Houston Texans by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

HOUSTON TEXANS (1)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 1) -- Now they know what it is like to be hunted.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 2) -- Losing Brian Cushing will hurt, although they have dealt well with injuries before.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 1)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 1) -- Even when they didn't play their best last night in a prime time game against the Jets, they still win ... really tells you how far this organization has come.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 2) -- Unbeaten streak lives on, but not without a huge loss. Texans will have to carry on without injured linebacker Brian Cushing.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 1) -- End J.J. Watt is a front-runner for NFL Defensive Player of the Year with his AFC-leading 81/2 sacks.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 1) -- It's 2011 all over again. With the loss of Brian Cushing, the Texans find out just how resilient they are.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 1) -- How will the loss of Brian Cushing affect J.J. Watt, the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year after the first five weeks?

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 1) -- Not every win is going to look pretty but the Texans remain undefeated, the run game unstoppable and J.J. Watt unblockable. The loss of Brian Cushing can't be underestimated.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 1) -- The Texans are the class of the league right now with dominant players in J.J. Watt, Arian Foster and Andre Johnson. Fun to watch!

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 1) -- Don't stop at NFL Defensive Player of the Year consideration for pass-rushing demon J.J. Watt. At this rate, he should garner legitimate consideration to become the first defensive player to win Most Valuable Player honors since Lawrence Taylor in 1986.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 1) -- They have outscored opponents by 76 points this year, which tells you something about all three phases of their game.
