Panthers WR Gettis, OL Bridges inactive vs. Bucs
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Panthers have deactivated guard Jeremy Bridges and wide receiver David Gettis for their game against the Buccaneers.
The Panthers signed Bridges after allowing seven sacks in last week's 36-14 loss to Denver. He spent most of the season on injured reserve with the Arizona Cardinals before reaching an injury settlement and had been expected to play a significant role against the Bucs.
Among Carolina's other inactives Sunday include quarterback Jimmy Clausen, cornerback D.J. Campbell, offensive tackle Bruce Campbell, linebacker Jason Williams and defensive end Antwan Applewhite.
There were no surprises for the Bucs on the inactive list. Sitting out are running back Michael Smith, cornerback Danny Gorrer, defensive tackle Corvey Irvin, defensive back Keith Tandy, defensive end Matthew Masifilo, wide receiver Chris Owusu and linebacker Najee Goode.
