Jags QB Gabbert, Eagles RB McCoy out with injuries
Gabbert, who has struggled this season, was injured when he was hit Danieal Manning and fumbled on Jacksonville's first drive.
Chad Henne took over for the rest of the game, and the Jaguars were beaten in overtime 43-37. Gabbert's injury status was unknown Sunday night.
Last week, three quarterbacks were sidelined with concussions: Chicago's Jay Cutler, Philadelphia's Michael Vick and San Francisco's Alex Smith. A fourth, Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger, was sidelined with shoulder and rib injuries. Vick and Roethlisberger did not play Sunday.
Cutler will sit out the Bears' Monday night game against the 49ers, with Smith a game-time decision.
New England lost tight end Rob Gronkowski with an arm injury late in Sunday's 59-24 win over Indianapolis, a game in which he caught two touchdown passes.
According to a report on Comcast SportsNet New England, Gronkowski has a broken forearm.
"He left the game with an arm injury," Patriots spokesman Stacey James said about 2½ hours after the game. "There was no update to that."
Gronkowski, 23, had seven catches for 137 yards on Sunday, including touchdowns of 4 and 24 yards in the game. He was reportedly injured while blocking for an extra point on New England's eighth touchdown.
Eagles running back LeSean McCoy left Philadelphia's 31-6 loss to Washington in the fourth quarter with a concussion. McCoy was taken off the field on a cart after staying down following a 7-yard run with less than 2 minutes left. He ran for 45 yards on 15 carries and gained another 67 yards on six catches.
Kansas City wide receiver Dwayne Bowe left against Cincinnati with a neck injury and left tackle Branden Albert left with a back injury. Also Bengals cornerback Terence Newman was sidelined with a concussion.
Bowe was being covered on a deep pass down the sideline when he leaped up, bobbled the ball and then landed hard on the turf at Arrowhead Stadium. He was checked by several trainers on the bench, retreated to the locker room and then re-emerged without his helmet.
Albert was hurt early in the third quarter, though it was unclear exactly how he was hurt. He lay flat on the field for several minutes before slowly walking off the field.
Newman was diagnosed with a concussion in the third quarter.
Atlanta cornerback Asante Samuel injured his right shoulder in the first quarter in the Falcons' win over Arizona. He was hurt when making a hit on Larry Fitzgerald as the Cardinals' wide receiver was trying to make a catch. Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (right ankle) hobbled off in the fourth quarter.
Detroit offensive tackle Jeff Backus missed the second half of the game against Green Bay with a hamstring injury. The veteran was playing his 186th consecutive game, passing Hall of Fame cornerback Dick LeBeau for fourth place on the franchise's career list for games played.
-Denver: Running back Willis McGahee hurt his right knee early in the second quarter when he was tackled by San Diego defensive back Quentin Jammer, and did not return. He had 55 yards on seven carries, along with one catch for 18 yards.
-St. Louis: Rams backup LB Mario Haggan hurt his right elbow on the opening series against the Jets and did not return.
-New York Jets: Backup cornerback Aaron Berry (quadriceps) left in the third quarter, and DT Kenrick Ellis (left knee) did not return after getting hurt in the first quarter. Coach Rex Ryan did not know the severity of either injury.
-Cleveland: Wide receiver Josh Cooper didn't return after injuring a knee in the second quarter. Cornerback Buster Skine, who started in place of Joe Haden, sustained a concussion on a play that involved a hit to Dallas receiver.
