New-look Eagles sign CB Chris Hawkins
PHILADELPHIA -- The Eagles have signed cornerback Chris Hawkins, the third player out of football in 2012 that they've signed in the past three days.
Hawkins played in nine games with Tennessee in 2011 and was released after training camp this year. He originally signed as a rookie free agent with Jacksonville in 2010.
On Wednesday, the Eagles signed defensive end Everette Brown and cornerback Trevard Lindley to two-year contracts. Neither played in the NFL this season.
Philadelphia fired coach Andy Reid on Monday, after a 4-12 season and a last-place finish in the NFC East. The search for a replacement is expected to carry on through the weekend.
