ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams are shopping for two starting safeties after releasing Quintin Mikell and with Craig Dahl an unrestricted free agent.
Mikell, a strong safety, was released Monday to clear salary cap space. He was third on the team with 114 tackles and three sacks and three forced fumbles.
Dahl started every game at free safety and had 100 tackles and an interception but struggled in coverage.
Another safety, Darian Stewart, is set to be a restricted free agent after an injury-shortened season. The Rams have two undrafted free agents at the position, Matt Daniels and Rodney McLeod.
