Stars make qualifying offers to Jokinen, six others
DALLAS -- Left wing Jussi Jokinen was one of seven restricted free agents who received qualifying contract offers Monday from the Dallas Stars.
The Stars also made qualifying offers to right wings Marius Holtet, Junior Lessard and Antti Miettinen, defenseman Vadim Khomitski and centers Joel Lundqvist and Mike Ribeiro.
The qualifying offers, which expire July 15, ensure that players who sign with the Stars receive raises. The team also has the right of first refusal or draft choice compensation should any of the players sign offer sheets with other NHL clubs.
Center Yared Hagos was not extended a qualifying offer. He will be eligible to become an unrestricted free agent Sunday and could then sign with any team without compensation to the Stars.
