Moto3 race disrupted by crash
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Moto3 race at the Circuit of the Americas was disrupted when driver Jasper Iwema crashed and was taken away to a hospital by helicopter.
Iwema, of the Netherlands, tumbled off the motorcycle in a turn and the bike tumbled violently end over end. Iwema was rushed to the track medical center where race officials say his mobility and breathing are fine.
Race officials say Iwema will undergo further tests at the hospital.
The crash occurred in the 12th of 18 laps and the race was suspended for about 15 minutes before resuming.
