Birnbacher, Domracheva win WCup biathlon sprints

HOCHFILZEN, Austria -- German biathlete Andreas Birnbacher shot flawlessly Friday to win a men's World Cup 10-kilometer sprint.
Darya Domracheva of Belarus won the women's 7.5-kilometer sprint, finishing in 22 minutes, 24.7 seconds to beat Kaisa Makarainen of Finland by 4.7 seconds. Tora Berger of Norway third and leads the overall standings.
Birnbacher finished the Pillerseetal course in 25 minutes, 31.1 seconds, 0.4 seconds ahead of defending overall champion Martin Fourcade of France. Jakov Fak of Slovenia was 13.7 seconds back in third.
Fourcade retained his lead in the overall standings.
