Women's downhill at Val d'Isere moved to Friday
VAL D'ISERE, France -- A women's World Cup downhill has been scheduled at Val d'Isere on Friday instead of Saturday to take advantage of a better weather forecast and visibility.
The International Ski Federation says the planned downhill and super-G races have switched days, with the shorter speed race moving to Saturday.
Lindsey Vonn will seek to extend her perfect record of four straight wins in World Cup speed races this season. The American defending champion is third in the overall standings led by Tina Maze of Slovenia, who has won all three giant slaloms.
Maze will aims for a fourth straight GS win when the French race weekend ends Sunday at Courchevel.
