World Cup-leading Kingsbury, Kearney win moguls
VOSS, Norway -- Olympic and World Cup champion Hannah Kearney of the United States has won the women's gold medal in moguls at the freestyle skiing world championships.
Mikael Kingsbury beat Canada teammate Alex Bilodeau for the men's title.
Kingsbury, the World Cup champion and season leader, and Bilodeau, the Vancouver Olympic champ, bettered their first-round results. In the championship-deciding round for the top six, Kingsbury finished on 27.59 points, and Bilodeau on 26.95.
Patrick Deneen of the United States, the 2009 world champ, was third.
Kearney showed her class, topping a good first run worth 26.48 with a second decisive effort of 26.70 for the title. Miki Ito of Japan was second with 24.92 points, and Justine Dufour-Lapointe of Canada was third with 23.48.
