Mikhail Youzhny advances to 2nd round in Bangkok
Youzhny, a U.S. Open quarterfinalist, says "actually I was sick last night. Even now I'm not feeling very well. I had to ask for a late start because I needed a doctor to give me a shot and to recover and feel better."
Youzhny will next face Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan. Istomin beat Jeong Suk-young of South Korea 6-3, 6-0.
Also, Lu Yen-hsun of Taiwan defeated Evgeny Donskoy of Russia 6-3, 6-2.
