VIENNA, Austria -- Long-distance runner Susanne Pumper of Austria has reportedly tested positive for doping.
Pumper told the Austria Presse Agency on Thursday that she tested positive for an unspecified banned substance following a half marathon in Vienna on March 9, but denied any wrongdoing.
The 37-year-old Pumper will be suspended by the Austrian athletics federation until her B sample is tested and will miss the Vienna City Marathon on April 27.
Pumper, who failed to qualify for the Beijing Olympics, won a half marathon in an Austrian record time of 1 hour, 12 minutes, 21 seconds on Sunday.
