THE MORNING ACCORDING TO US

That was the last time Harold turned off Wheel of Fortune before the final spin.

Here's how you roll with this: check the map up top. The content here corresponds. It's WORLD-wide; that's how we roll. It's up to the minute; that's also how we do things. The important thing to remember is this: if and when you're in a situation where the team needs you to win it all by yourself, and the team includes only you, then at least you're uniquely qualified to do it. That said, the bus rides to meets must be boring.

One Woman Show
In Texas, Bonnie Richardson is king. Richardson was the only Rochelle High School athlete to qualify for the statetrack meet and stunningly won the team title. Officials said it was the first time they can recall a single athlete winning a team title by herself. The champagne celebration with her team, however, was really awkward.

Full First Tee
UK passengers on Virgin Trains received an email saying they could expect to be pampered better than Paris Hilton at her namesake hotel, and for free, on May 28 at an exclusive golf course outside London. Well, that message was meant for 75 people, not the 76,000 emailed. It makes for an untidy clubhouse.

One Way to Go
A nursing home in Melbourne introduced its patrons to the art of fencing a few months ago, and after studying its techniques, the old people are making like Zorro these days, albeit a walker-reliant Zorro. The nursing home, which houses retired priests and nuns, now swears by the activity.

A Lost Cuban
Yurisel Laborde, a gold-medal winner at the Pan American Judo Championships in Miami, left the Cuba delegation and her whereabouts are unknown. Cuban international sports competitions continue to be a great place for athletes to show how much they feel for home, by sneaking out in the night and leaving.

Surf Wars
Even in affluent areas, the battle over who can surf wear has turned San Diego-area kids in their early 20's into something more similar to the street gangs you'd suspect they only know from films. And now there's a beating death to add to the tales. What happened to hanging loose?
