LUNCH LINKS

"Yes, I am aware my stock is falling faster than DeAndre Jordan's."
Trevor Hoffman, arguably the greatest closer of all-time, had never faced the Minnesota Twins before last night. He probably wishes that was still the case, after giving up HR's on consecutive pitches in the 9th, as the Twins beat the Padres 3-1. Hoffman is now 1-5, has an ERA of 4.85, and has converted only 12/15 saves. For comparison, in 1998 he had 53 saves, an ERA of 1.48, and one (one!) blown save. We're not the first to say it, but maybe it's time for the man with 539 career saves to think about hanging up the spikes. Either way, enjoy the links.
