Professional athletes have plenty of die-hard fans, but it's easy to forget these multi-million mega-stars are fans of their own. We asked guys on the Cubs, Dodgers, Indians and Cardinals: "Who is their favorite team in any sport?"
We've found Dodgers and Cubs players who grew up Cardinal fans, Cardinal players who are—well, Cardinal fans—lots of Dallas Cowboys fans and a couple of Chicago Bulls fans. While two of his teammates are Cowboys fans, one Cardinal player roots for the Steelers on Sunday - along with two Dodgers players. Hey guys, maybe you have more in common with your opponent than you thought.
DALLAS COWBOYS
I've always been a huge Dallas Cowboys fan ever since I was a kid. I've always followed them. They've just always been my team.
Ryan Franklin, Cardinals
I grew up with them. My dad was a huge fan and I just always grew up liking the Cowboys because he liked them and I wanted to be like him.
Chris Perez, Cardinals
I'm a pretty big Cowboys fan just growing up in Dallas. I love watching them.
Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers
Cowboys. Easily. I'm from Dallas and every off-season it's fun to go to Cowboys games and last season the Bears played the Cowboys so I got to go see that.
Kevin Hart, Cubs
Dallas Cowboys by far. As a kid, I shared the room of my older brother and he was a huge Cowboys fan so that was what was all over the walls growing up and I just kind of went along for the ride. I had the chance to meet Tony Romo at Wrigley field, which was cool. In the off-season it's usually me glued to the TV in my basement.
Mark DeRosa, Cubs
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
I grew up with them.
Neal Cotts, Cubs [Ed's note: Odd.]
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Growing up I really liked the Pittsburgh Steelers and I kept up with football. Back in the Bradshaw, Franco Harris days.
Russ Springer, Cardinals
I grew up around Pittsburgh and that's all we have to look forward to. There's not much else there. Sports teams are a pretty big deal there.
Joe Beimel, Dodgers
I grew up a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Cory Wade, Dodgers
CHICAGO BULLS
Those great years that they had, you know when Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen was there, I was watching the finals and everything and it was exciting.
Cesar Izturis, Cardinals
Chicago Bulls (with) Michael Jordan. Even other teams like the Rockets, New York Knicks, all those teams were very good. I watch it sometimes when I have time but not like I was before. I was dying to watch the Chicago Bull play.
Rafael Betancourt, Indians
ATLANTA BRAVES
When I was growing up I liked the Braves because I'm from Georgia. I'm a real big Braves fan.
Jonathan Broxton, Dodgers
I've got to say the Atlanta Braves. Right now it's the Cubs, of course, but before it was the Atlanta Braves. I think the history of that team and what Bobby Cox had done for the club. I think it's unbelievable that they did like 14 titles in a row.
Henry Blanco, Cubs
WASHINGTON REDSKINS
I'd have to say the Redskins just because where I grew up everybody liked Dallas and from the time when I was a kid, Dallas and the Redskins were a huge rivalry so I picked up watching the Redskins.
Brad Penny, Dodgers
Big Washington Redskins fan. My dad grew up on the East Coast so he was a Redskins fan growing up.
Reed Johnson, Cubs
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
The Seattle Seahawks. Just my team. Every time I go back home I'll try to catch a game.
Grady Sizemore, Indians
ARKANSAS FOOTBALL
Probably the Arkansas Razorbacks. I went to junior college and then I went to the University of Arkansas for a year. I like their football team especially last year with McFadden and Felix Jones they had a really good team.
Cliff Lee, Indians
NORTH CAROLINA BASKETBALL
The Tar Heels. Last spring training I went down to the ACC Championship game that was in Tampa to see them play there and this past off season a couple of my buddy's and my wife went down to see a game.
Aaron Laffey, Indians
BRAZIL SOCCER
I like soccer. My favorite soccer team is Brazil. I think it's the best in the world. I saw a couple guys last year in Chicago because they played with the United States team. I saw Ronaldinho and Robinho.
Edward Mujica, Indians
