Is this man going to be a problem?

WIE FAN:
Why is it anybody's business if Michelle Wie wants to play with the men? Do you agree with me, Stu?

I thought it was a great story when Michelle missed the cut by just two strokes at the John Deere Classic in 2005, but now I'd like to see her win an LPGA event before continuing to compete with the men. Yes, it is nobody's business but hers, but she needs to learn how to win. I'd like to see her gain the experience she needs to get on the leader board and to avoid some of the mental lapses she's had—like forgetting to sign her scorecard.

REPLAY RICK:
Stu, the Little League World Series will use replay, but the major leagues still haven't taken the plunge! Isn't that pathetic?

I wouldn't say pathetic, exactly. I'd say weird, uncomfortable or awkward. Something's not right with the cosmos.

RON FROM HOUSTON:
Yo, Stuart! Will we be hearing the phrase "Houston, we have a problem" with Ron Artest on the Rockets?

Who knows? Artest has actually been pretty quiet the past couple of years. From a basketball standpoint, if Yao and T-Mac are healthy, Artest's power on the inside will make the Rockets one of the three or four best teams in the West. If all goes smoothly, watch out. We may be saying "Houston, we have liftoff."

SAM FROM SPOKANE:
Were you surprised that the Sox traded Manny Ramirez? And what did you think about the way Manny forced their hand?

I was a little surprised, yes. I think the Manny situation is similar to Brett Favre: What's going to make your team better? For the Packers, it would be having a contented Favre, clearly. For the Sox, it would be having a contented Manny, clearly. I think with players of their caliber, teams should do what they can to make them happy without violating the integrity of the team. But who really knows what would have made Manny happy other than a trade? And I was disappointed with the way he chose not to play some games and ran to first slower than my mother could have. Manny being Manny is usually something fun and kind of lovable, but lately it seemed like he was just pouting.

JIM FROM ATLANTA:
What do you think about the possibility that LeBron will play in Europe?

As a fan of LeBron's and as a broadcaster, I can only say I hope he doesn't. And what do you think about international basketball? If you were a player, would you be just as satisfied to play overseas as in the NBA, the question of salary aside? I'd love to play the international game, but in the summer and for my country. For my regular job, I'd want to play in the league I grew up loving, the one that, night in and night out, features the best competition in the world, the one in which the lane is a perfect rectangle and the ball is just one color.
