CURRENT NFL RIVALRIES? WE'LL FIGHT TO THE FINISH FOR EAGLES VS. COWBOYS

[Ed's note: Not sure what All-World Power Rankings is? Please click here.]

Eagles vs. Cowboys tonight (8:30pm ET, ESPN). Yesterday's slate ended with Steelers over Browns and the 4pm block featured Patriots vs. Jets and the revival of the Broncos and Chargers rivalry, which last year was about as one-sided as they come. Seemed a good time to rank current rivalries. Want a good piece on all-time? Check our man Jeffri Chadiha.

TOP 5
RANK (YESTERDAY) WHAT WHY
1 (14) EAGLES VS. COWBOYS Tony Romo has legitimate problems with Jim Johnson defensive schemes (the Giants run a similar one, seeing as how Steve Spagnuolo was under Johnson for years). Bonus: it was the game last year that started the 'Jessica Simpson Curse.' Double bonus: they've been rivals forever. Triple bonus: this sidebar.
2 (41) BRONCOS VS. CHARGERS Before yesterday, we wouldn't have had this as high (last year the Chargers woodshedded them twice). It's going to get ugly now, we think—and fast.
3 (217) GIANTS VS. COWBOYS They don't seem to like each other. Bonus: Cowboys are seemingly the most talented team in the NFC, but to become the NFC Champions, they gotta knock off the Giants. Double bonus: even with Strahan and Osi gone, that "put-him-on-the-run-and-don't-let-him-get-set" defensive scheme the Giants will bring always makes Romo nervous and these games interesting.
4 (127) PACKERS VS. VIKINGS The offseason tampering charges + Aaron Rodgers taking them out with the trash on MNF Week 1 = Vikings will be looking for revenge. If their defense stays intact and AP stays healthy, this could be a huge NFL rivalry for years.
5 (899) JETS VS. PATRIOTS Normally would be higher, but without Brady it loses a little luster (if the Jets had won yesterday, that also helps). Right now: teams don't like each other, coaches really don't like each other. But one team pretty much wins all the time. Is that a 'rivalry' per se?

HONORABLE MENTION
RANK (YESTERDAY) WHAT WHY
18 (144) CHARGERS VS. PATRIOTS Again, would be higher but: (1) Brady's gone and (2) the Chargers don't look great right now.
28 (701) BROWNS VS. STEELERS Despite the 0-2 mark, we still think the Browns have enough weapons to be considered a legit threat. This rivalry has been around for years, but Big Ben is virtually undefeatable in the state of Ohio; until that changes, it can't creep up this chart.

RISING AND FALLING
MOVEMENT WHAT
TITANS VS. COLTS (If the Titans D keeps stepping up and the Colts keep looking beatable, sure.)
COLTS VS. PATRIOTS (Cassel vs. Manning doesn't have the same ring.)
