The Yanks closed the Stadium in style.

They're only moving across the street, but from the reactions—the goodbyes (The New York Times, Daily News, Post), the international coverage (Al Jazeera, Agence France-Presse (where Jeter is known as "American Jeter"), Daily Telegraph, Sydney Morning Herald), the remembrances (USA Today, Newsday, Associated Press)—you'd think Major League baseball has contracted the Yankees and forced Derek Jeter into retirement.
