WASHINGTON CAPITALS FANTASY CAMP
Me: Hey, mom, the Washington Capitals invited Lindsay and me to participate in their media fantasy camp. How cool is that?
Mom: You can't skate. Will they give you wrist guards?
Me: Yeah, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. Lindsay's a badass skater and played hockey her whole life. And I've never skated. Why don't you love me?
And so it was. Mag senior writer, Lindsay Berra, and I took to the ice with Caps Chris Clark, Donald Brashear, Matt Bradley, Boyd Gordon, Brent Johnson and assistant coach extraordinaire Dean Evason for a media fantasy camp—the first the team has ever held. In short, she was awesome, I was embarrassing. But we had a great time.
