Monday, We'll Have Kim Kardashian. For Now, Prepare For The Weekend.
We're serious about that Kardashian thing.

Quick bit of "breaking" news here: on Monday, ESPNTheMag.Com will unveil a For Love Or The Game video featuring Saints RB Reggie Bush and his lady friend, Kim Kardashian. Excited? We are. Until then, we have a few resources for you to consume as you try to put this sporting weekend in context. Take a deep breath, mutter "Oklahoma minus seven" and dive in.
SATURDAY
You'll want to start with Ohio State vs. Michigan (12pm, ABC). It's a down year for this rivalry (cue the peanut gallery: "This decade has been a down year!"), but it's a huge game regardless. Check out these OSU students swimming in a freezing cold lake two nights before the game, read this about Rich Rodriguez, and because it's always fun: relive Jim Tressel's sales pitch to current USC QB Mark Sanchez. Oh, and for good measure, here's Ohio Governor Ted Strickland talking about the Buckeyes.
The seamless transition here is another Big 10 battle: Penn State vs. Michigan State (3:30pm, ABC). Can JoePa get to Pasadena? Read this and you'll say "yes." Then, uh, read this and you'll say "no." Life is confusing.
Near the third quarter of that game, you'll want to keep an eye on BYU vs. Utah (6pm, Versus). Read this (a bit dated, but relevant) to acquaint yourself with a key figure in the game. Then, read this. Intense, eh?
This all takes you to Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech (8pm, ABC). Learn more about Mike Leach, research some viral Sooners history, read this to stoke your intellectual fires and then get some popcorn and enjoy the laser show. Get to bed early, though. Ya still got Sunday to deal with.
SUNDAY
Don't drop that East Coast bias on us. The two biggest games of Sunday do legitimately involve teams from New York. At 1pm, strap in for Jets vs. Titans. Want to be prepared? Read Rick Reilly, then read this about the best games of Kerry Collins' career, this about the keys for the Titans' success, and this rather comprehensive video history of Mr. Collins. You're good. If you really, really love Brett Favre, go ahead and read this.
4:15pm brings Giants vs. Cardinals. The basic storyline: Eli Manning took Kurt Warner's job and now they both have rings! (Everything works out in the end!) The deeper storyline, more discussed last season: the G-Men got scary good when Tom Coughlin loosened up. Here's an example of what we mean. If you want to try and delve deep into the whole "Is Eli now better than his brother?" argument, well, read this. Ya like brothers? (We all love siblings, right?) Read this. You're straight now.
The night game (man, you've been watching a lot of sports—get some culture, you slob) is Chargers vs. Colts, which would have been a lot more interesting in November 2006. We have made two videos with LaDainian Tomlinson, though (here and here) and as for Peyton Manning, we recommend this.
Go to sleep already. Monday will bring a nice Packers vs. Saints tilt and—were you paying attention above?—Ms. Kardashian.
