The Week That Was ... Eponymous

We found a band named "Week That Was," which is frankly kind of exciting.

"Are they using the word correctly?" "I thought they were referencing that R.E.M. album, honestly."

One of our co-workers stumbled across the band called "The Week That Was." Their videos tend to be kind of frenetic, which we enjoy, and since we were 25 before we knew what "eponymously" meant (no joke, found it out at a foundation dinner), it seemed a good title for the week. Rick Reilly, who doesn't seem to have an eponymous foundation (but has been involved with the United Nations Foundation) dropped in with a column about numerous pro athletes—several have things whose names derive from theirs—not completely knowing the rules of their sport. Stephen A. Smith is talking about name-brand cats (we mean people!) he hasn't yet met. And as for the biggest theme of the week, NEXT 2009, well, isn't that kind of eponymous with ESPN The Magazine by now? OK, we'll stop. As for the ESPNTheMag.Com Center for Good Content, you can find that after 'Read More.'
